Box Score 2 Tacoma, Wash. - DePauw scored two runs in the top of the seventh of game two of its doubleheader at Pacific Lutheran for a 4-2 victory after dropping the opener, 2-1. The Tigers moved to 8-4 with the split, while the Lutes are now 13-12.
In the opener, the Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Jordyn Fera doubled home Sarah Beischer. Pacific Lutheran evened the score in the second when Bailey Plumb drew a bases-loaded walk. Anna Overland's single in the sixth plated Samantha Simundson with the eventual game-winning run.
Fera led DePauw with two of its eight hits, while Simundson had two of the Lutes' seven hits.
Mac Jones dropped to 2-2 with the loss in relief of starter Ali Dierks. Kennedy Robillard improved to 7-3.
In the nightcap, DePauw struck first again with a single run in the second as Riley Maggon reached on a fielder's choice that scored Jade Mejia Wick. Simundson's solo homer in the bottom of the frame evened the count at 1-1.
Robillard's single in the third scored Becca Sorensen and gave the Lutes a 2-1 lead. That lead held until the fifth when Abey Bass knotted the score at 2-2 with a single that brought home Kate Geary.
In the DePauw seventh, Kat Panos led off with a single and pinch-runner Paige Price stole second. Julia Bork's single moved Price to third and Price came home on a throwing error as Bork stole second. Geary then drove in Bork with a sacrifice fly.
Seven different Tigers collected one hit apiece, while Sorensen and Simundson each had two of Pacific Lutheran's six hits.
Bork moved to 1-0 after pitching three innings of scoreless, one-hit relief. Z Ellis dropped to 5-7.
DePauw travels to 12th-ranked Linfield tomorrow for a 5 p.m. PDT doubleheader.
