Tigers Drop Dual Meet at #5 WashU

St. Louis, Mo. - In the first dual meet of the season, DePauw fell to fifth-ranked WashU, 155-94.

Charlie Stewart-Bates was second in the 1,650-yard freestyle (16:55.10) and Seth Fagen third in the 100 backstroke (55.46).

With the host Bears swimming exhibition in some events, the Tigers picked up 16 points each in the 500-yard freestyle and the 100 butterfly and 13 in the 400 individual medley. In the 500 free, Matthew Netherton took first in 4:58.33 with Max Steffey second (5:08.07) and Will Serf third (5:11.50).

Ian Longan was first in the 100 fly (53.55) with Seth Fagen second (54.46) and Ben Mennitt third (55.74). Patrick Unterreiner was first in the 400 IM (4:30.26) and Ethan Spencer second (4:35.25).

The Tigers' 400 free relay of Joel Orloff, Serf, Longan and Jake Frech was first in 3:16.79.

DePauw hosts Wabash on Friday, November 1, at 7 p.m.
