DePauw Picks Up Fifth Win in Last Six Contests

Oberlin, Ohio - Nolan Ginther scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead DePauw to a 68-57 North Coast Athletic Conference win at Oberlin. The Tigers improved to 13-6 overall and 7-5 in the NCAC, while the Yeomen dropped to 10-9 overall and 6-6 in conference play.

The host Yeomen got out to an early 16-8 lead, but the Tigers responded with an 11-0 run that started with back-to-back 3-pointers by Matthew Godfrey and ended with a 3-point play from Ginther to give DePauw a 19-16 advantage. Oberlin later regained the lead and stretched it to six, but Ginther closed the half with two free throws and a layup to trim the Oberlin halftime lead to 34-32.

Andrew Kus buried a three with 13:15 to give DePauw a 46-43 edge. Oberlin countered, but Ginther and Cole Jenkins each scored buckets to start a 9-0 run that gave the Tigers a 55-45 advantage.

Oberlin was within six at 63-57 after Andre Campbell's layup with 2:10 left, but the Tigers outscored Oberlin, 5-0, down the stretch for the win.

Ginther's 22-point, nine-rebound effort led both teams, while Godfrey added 12 points with all coming in the first half on four 3-pointers. Nick Felke dished out four assists in the victory.

Eli Silverman-Lloyd paced Oberlin with 16 points and seven rebounds with Christian Fioretti adding 12 points and Joshua Friedkin 11. Silverman-Lloyd and Fioretti each had four assists.

DePauw shot 48.9 percent from the field and hit 6 of 12 3-pointers, while Oberlin connected on 52.0 percent overall and 5 of 18 from beyond the arc. The Tigers knocked in 16 of 20 free throws, while Oberlin missed both of its attempts from the line. DePauw outrebounded Oberlin, 30-22, and each team committed 12 turnovers.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, February 1, with a 6 p.m. NCAC game at Hiram.
