Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw grabbed a first-half lead over Capital in the home opener, but the Crusaders scored a pair in the second including the game winner with under six minutes left for a 2-1 win over the Tigers. DePauw dropped to 0-3,while Capital improved to 2-0.
Gail Enright gave the Tigers a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute and DePauw took that lead into the intermission. Morgan Eakin evened the contest in the 67th minute before Sydney Dion delivered the deciding score with 5:48 left.
Capital outshot the Tigers, 16-6, and held a 7-5 edge in shots on goal. The Crusaders also held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Maya Caldwell totaled five saves in goal for DePauw, while Kelly Bachmann had four for Capital.
DePauw hosts Franklin at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11.
