Engineers Send Tigers to Defeat

Greencastle, Ind. - Visiting Rose-Hulman grabbed the lead for good late in the first half and added an insurance score early in the second on the way to a 3-1 win over DePauw. The Tigers dropped to 2-5, while the Engineers improved to 4-3.

The guests took a 1-0 lead on Sarah Shoemaker's goal from Jessica Wells in the 10th minute, but Allison Harvey quickly knotted the score 14:02 into the contest.

Wells gave Rose-Hulman the advantage at 38:12 and Elle Ogden provided the game's final tally at 55:25.

Rose-Hulman held a 16-13 edge in shots including 10-6 on goal, while the Tigers had seven corner kicks to just one for the Engineers.

DePauw's Mia Manney recorded seven saves with Rose-Hulman's Katie Demert stopping five DePauw shots.

The Tigers open North Coast Athletic Conference play on Saturday, September 22, with a Noon game against Wooster at Reavis Stadium.
