Box Score Greencastle, Ind. - Katie Webb's goal in the first overtime gave DePauw a 3-2 win over visiting Franklin. DePauw improved to 1-3, while the Grizzlies dropped to 1-2-1.
The teams played a scoreless first half, but DePauw's Sophia Wilcox broke the deadlock early in the second half before Jalynn Gorman and Maddie Fleet came right back with scores to give Franklin a 2-1 advantage.
Jenna McCarroll forced the extra period with a goal with just 4:54 remaining in regulation. Webb's goal came with 5:08 left in the opening overtime.
DePauw held a 21-7 advantage in shots including 10-5 on goal. The Tigers also had 11 corner kicks to Franklin's two.
Maya Caldwell recorded two saves in goal for the Tigers before Mia Manney came off the bench and stopped one shot. Lexi Short posted seven saves for the Grizzlies.
DePauw travels to WashU on Saturday, September 15, where they will play Wisconsin-Whitewater in a 1:30 p.m. CDT game.
