La Crosse, Wis. - DePauw's Polo Burguete earned a spot in Saturday's 3,000-meter steeplechase finals at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships after posting the top time in today's prelims.

Burguete won the first heat in 9:18.46 which was the fastest time among the 20 competitors. He'll compete in Saturday's 11:30 a.m. CDT finals.

Tomorrow's competition includes Samuel Voelz who will run in the 800-meter prelims which start at 5 p.m. CDT.
