DePauw Places Fourth at Rose-Hulman; Voelz Breaks 50-year Old School Record

Terre Haute, Ind. - The eclipsing of a 50-year old school record and a stadium-record performance highlighted DePauw's performance at the Rose-Hulman Twilight. DePauw totaled 75 points and finished fourth, while WashU won with 177.

Samuel Voelz was second in the 800 meters and his time of 1:52.56 broke the school record of 1:53.74 set by Scott Shafer in 1968.

DePauw totaled 17 points in the 3,000-meter steeplechase led by a stadium record from Polo Burguete who won in  9:20.55. Kyle Munz was fifth (9:59.40), followed by Josse Smith in seventh (10:24.89) and Noah Boyce in eighth (11:07.15).

Kamal Apatira turned in a second-place showing in the long jump (6.39m/20-11.75) with Chase Wright placing third in the 100 meters (11.29). Also placing second was Dante Stewart in the 400 meters (49.97) with Luke Patty finishing fourth (50.24).

The Tigers had two scorers in the 5,000 meters as Aaron Worley was fifth (16:07.11) and Samuel Meyer finished sixth (16:27.77).

Andrew Saunders placed fifth in the javelin (43.72m/143-5) with Tyler Nemeth sixth in the pole vault (4.30m/14-1.25) and Demarco Henry seventh in the discus (40.81m/133-11)

Rounding out DePauw's individual scorers was Cole Martin in the 1,500 meters (4:02.18).

The Tigers' 4x400 relay was third (3:18.76).

DePauw returns to action on Friday, April 27, when it competes in the Big Red Invitational hosted by Denison.
