Distance Medley Relay Wins NCAC Title and Breaks School Record on Opening Day of NCAC Championships

Crawfordsville, Ind. - Paced by a conference champion distance medley relay and three top-four finishes in the 5,000 meters, DePauw totaled 31 points and is in second place after the first day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Ohio Wesleyan leads with 36 point.

The Tigers' distance medley relay of Cole Martin, Pierce Sheehan, Johnny Miller and Zach Batt won in a school-record time of 10:20.84. This marked the second consecutive title the Tigers have captured in the event.

DePauw's other 21 points came in the 5,000 meters as Paul Christian won in 14:56.84, while Polo Burguete was third in 15:12.41 and Kyle Munz fourth in 15:21.52.

In prelim action, Jordan Booker qualified for Saturday's finals of the 200 and 400 meters. Booker broke the school record after placing fifth in the 200 meters in 22.98 seconds and he was second in the 400 in 51.06. Also earning finals spots were Johnny Miller with a sixth-place showing in the 400 prelims in 51.47 and Chase Wright with an eighth-place finish in the 200 prelims in 23.06.
