Tigers Finish Third at Own Invitational

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw totaled 97 points and finished third at the DePauw Invitational at the Indoor Tennis and Track Center. Wabash won with 119 points, while Rose-Hulman was second with 115.

The Tigers picked up 22 points in the 5,000 meters as Polo Burguete won (15:05.20), while Paul Christian was second (15:12.57) and Nick Meszaros fifth (15:51.06).

Tiger runners also placed second and third in the mile as Zach Batt was second in 4:22.87 and Cole Martin third in 4:23.90.

Johnny Miller was runner-up in the 400 meters (51.91) with Jordan Booker finishing fifth (52.58). DePauw's other second-place individual was Pierce Sheehan in the 1,000 meters (2:44.40), while Samuel Meyer was sixth in the event (2:51.36).

Kyle Munz turned in a third-place performance in the 3,000 meters (8:59.71) with Chase Wright placing sixth in both the 60 meters (7.26) and the 200 meters (23.34). Also scoring in the 200 meters was Luke Patty after finishing eighth (23.48).

Jonah Jerabek placed sixth in the 600 meters (1:31.56) as did Nate Baker in the weight throw (14.16m/46-5.5). Baker also picked up a point in the shot put after placing ninth (12.43m/40-9.5).

Satchel Oskins was eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (9.13) after posting the fifth-fastest prelim time of 9.02. Tyler Nemeth also was eighth in the pole vault (3.90m/12-9.5).

DePauw's 4x200 relay was second in 1:33.25, while the distance medley relay was fourth in 11:37.67 and the 4 x 400 relay sixth in 3:43.39.

The Tigers host the DePauw Classic on Friday, February 17, at 11 a.m.
