DePauw in Second after First of Three Days of Phioenix Fall Classic

Chicago, Ill. - DePauw totaled 138 points and is in second after the first of three days of competition at the Phoenix Fall Classic hosted by University of Chicago. Lewis leads with 146 points.

DePauw's 200-yard free relay of Alex Rodgers, Ryan Smith, Kellen Bachler and Jake Frech opened in eighth in 1:27.77.

Tommy Hackley posted DePauw's top finish in the 1,650-yard freestyle after finishing third (16:08.84). Jack Christie was right behind in fourth (16:11.22). Both were "B" cut times. Charlie Stewart-Bates was sixth in the event in 16:26.72.

The Tigers' 400 medley relay of Seth Fagen, Nikita Polyakov, Ian Longan and Frech was eighth in 3:30.42.

Second day competition begins tomorrow morning.
