Tigers Blank Terriers for Sixth Straight Win

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw ran its win streak to six and stayed perfect in North Coast Athletic Conference play following a 3-0 (25-23, 27-25, 25-17) win over Hiram. The Tigers moved to 10-7 overall and 3-0 in NCAC play, while the Terriers dropped to 13-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

After winning the opening set, the Tigers found themselves trailing 21-18 in the second before rattling off four straight points including two kills from Suzanne Peters and one from Morgan Stearley. That marked the last time DePauw trailed in the match as it won that set and took the third.

Stearley led DePauw with 15 kills and a .353 hitting percentage, while Peters had 12 kills. Grace Filbrun totaled 25 assists in the opening two sets and Ally Low had 10 in the third. Peters paced the defensive effort with 14 digs with Kaylee Nichols adding 11, while Liv Hartman and Corri Rusk each had three block assists.

Each team had 41 kills, but DePauw hit .283 to Hiram's .209. The Tigers also led in aces, 5-1 and had 52 digs to Hiram's 48.

DePauw returns to action tomorrow at 1 p.m. when it hosts Allegheny in a 1 p.m. match.
