DePauw Battles Denison to Tie

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw and visiting Denison each scored in the opening 16 minutes, but that was all the scoring as the teams fought to a 1-1 North Coast Athletic Conference tie. The Tigers are now 2-8-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the NCAC, while Denison is 6-2-2 overall and 1-0-2 in conference play.

Denison's Kelly O'Neill gave her team a quick 1-0 lead at 4:57, but Bailey Ehrens knotted the count at 1-1 with her second goal of the season on an assist from Mallory Dillon.

DePauw's Mia Manney recorded five saves including one on a Denison free kick with just over two minutes left in the second overtime. Denison's Patil Tcholakian had two stops.

The Big Red outshot DePauw, 13-7, including 6-3 in shots on goal. Denison also led in corners, 3-1, while DePauw had 10 fouls to the Big Red's nine.

DePauw returns to action on Wednesday, October 10, at Ohio Wesleyan for a 7 p.m. contest.

I chose DePauw because it is an academic focused institution. Everyone was very friendly when I visited, I loved that I can continue to play soccer, and the campus is beautiful.
