Tigers Split Saturday Matches in Final Tuneup to NCAC Tournament

St. Louis, Mo. - DePauw opened Saturday play at the WashU Baden Invite with a 3-1 (25-12, 25-17, 22-25, 25-21) win over Aurora before Texas-Dallas defeated the Tigers 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-15). The Tigers are now 17-9 on the season as they head into next weekend's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.

In the Aurora match, Suzanne Peters and Morgan Stearley each had 16 kills, while Peters also led with 17 digs. Ally Low had 40 assists for DePauw, while Jenna Purichia had three of DePauw's nine aces with Meaghan Etling and Stearley each notching a pair. Stearley led with six block assists as DePauw finished with a team total of 11.

DePauw outhit the Spartans, .232-.066 and held a 62-58 edge in digs.

In the Texas-Dallas match, the Tigers hit just .170 to the Comets' .297. UT-Dallas also held a 44-34 advantage in kills. 

Peters led DePauw with 12 kills, while Low had 28 assists. Stearley had a team-high 11 digs and Corri Rusk had a pair of block assists.

The Tigers open NCAC Tournament play on Saturday, November 3, when they play in the 11 a.m. semifinal game against an opponent to be determined.
