Wittenberg Sends DePauw to Defeat

Springfield, Ohio - DePauw jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute, but host Wittenberg knotted the contest later in the first half and scored the game-winning goal early in the second for a 2-1 North Coast Athletic Conference victory. DePauw dropped to 4-9-1 overall and 2-3-1 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg improved to 4-8-2 overall and 2-2-1 in conference play.

Allison Harvey's goal at 10:27 gave DePauw a 1-0 advantage before Wittenberg's Sydney Weaver evened the count on an assist from Stephanie Angle at 36:35. Weaver assisted Taylor Vaughn-Stanton just 6:51 into the second half for the deciding score.

DePauw held a commanding 24-8 edge in shots including 16-5 in shots on goal. DePauw also led in corners, 8-0, and each team had six fouls.

Mia Manney recorded three saves in goal for DePauw, while Kelly Corbin stopped 15 DePauw shots.

DePauw hosts Kenyon on Saturday, October 20, at 2:30 p.m.
