Tigers Drop NCAC Contest to Ohio Wesleyan

Greencastle, Ind. - Ohio Wesleyan scored twice in a 78-second span of the second half and held on for a 3-2 North Coast Athletic Conference win over DePauw. The Tigers dropped to 7-6 overall and 5-4 in the NCAC, while the Battling Bishops improved to 9-4 overall and 6-4 in conference play.

Barbara Welling gave the guests a 1-0 lead with 17:50 left in the first half before DePauw's Kate Milner tied it just 5:18 later.

The game remained deadlocked until Katy Janas scored off a deflection of a shot from Barbara Welling with 27:44 remaining in the contest. Ashley Barno made it 3-1 just 1:18 later on an assist from Alexis Roberts.

Milner's second goal of the game and 17th of the season came with 5:41 left and trimmed the deficit to 3-2, but that's how the game ended.

Each team had 11 shots and DePauw held a 7-4 edge in shots on goal. The Tigers also held a narrow 7-6 lead in penalty corners.

Sarah Foye started in goal for the Tigers with Hannah Metzger collecting a save in relief. Paige Ross stopped five DePauw shots in goal for the Battling Bishops.

DePauw hosts Kenyon on Sunday, October 14, at Noon.
