Tigers Pick Up First NCAC Win

Delaware, Ohio - All four of DePauw's North Coast Athletic Conference games this year have gone to overtime, but tonight the Tigers came away with their first NCAC win of the season, 3-2 over Ohio Wesleyan. The Tigers moved to 3-8-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the NCAC, while the Battling Bishops dropped to 4-7-1 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

The Tigers jumped out to a 2-0 lead on first-half goals by Bailey Ehrens and Mallory Dillon with Jenna McCarroll assisting on the first.

Ohio Wesleyan's Emily Sheridan cut the lead in half in the 27th minute on an assist from Lexie Chafin. Kortney McGinnis forced the overtime with just 5:15 left in regulation on assists from Sherifan and Ashley Smiley.

DePauw's Sophia Silcox delivered the game winner from 25 yards out on the right side after a pass from Alex Wendt just 2:20 into the first overtime

DePauw outshot the hosts, 26-20 (15-10 on goal) and held a 9-6 edge in corners. The Tigers were whistled for 16 fouls to Ohio Wesleyan's 10.

The Tigers' Mia Manney stopped eight Ohio Wesleyan shots, while the Bishops' Mack Brunke recorded 12 saves.

DePauw hosts Allegheny at Noon on Saturday, October 13.
