Tigers Claim First NCAC Win

Box Score

Greencastle, Ind. – The DePauw women's soccer team operated at full strength during Saturday's senior night in what culminated in a 2-0 win over Hiram for their first North Coast Athletic Conference win.

DePauw, who now moves to 2-7 overall and 1-1 in the NCAC, got a quick jolt of energy at 11:45 on Bailey Ehrens's second goal of the year. Alex Wendt came from the left side of the field and found her in front of the net for the assist.

The Tigers added on before the end of the half at 36:15 when Shaili Kumar scored her first goal in her first game of the year thanks to an assist from Bridget Brendza.

Unlike their previous outing where the Tigers lost a 3-1 lead in the second half, the Tigers held Hiram (2-7-1, 0-1) to just two shots in the second half to hold on for the win. DePauw outshot Hiram 14-4.

DePauw also took 14 corners to Hiram's two. Four yellow cards were issued to the Terriers, while DePauw was carded once.

Freshman Mia Manney picked up her first collegiate win in net. She made four saves.

The Tigers return to action Monday when they host Centre.
