Terre Haute, Ind. – It was a night of firsts for the women's soccer team as they defeated Rose-Hulman 1-0 on Thursday.

For starters, it was DePauw's first win of the season as they move to 1-3 on the year. Rose-Hulman drops to 2-4.

Simultaneously, interim coach Doug Starnes picked up his first win thanks in part to freshman Alex Wendt's first collegiate goal just 8:50 into the game. It held up for the remainder of the game as senior Natalie Sheeks recorded four saves for her first shutout.

DePauw was actually outshot 9-6 but led the corner advantage at 6-3.

The Tigers will face Rhodes at Fontbonne University on Saturday.
