DePauw Finishes Second at Own Invitational; Three Tigers Earn Wins

Greencastle, Ind. - Led by three first-place finishes, DePauw totaled 149.5 points and finished second at its own invitational. Rose-Hulman won with 221.5 points.

Zach Batt won the 1,500 meters in 4:09.86, while Spencer Golde was seventh in the event (4:15.17). Batt was also fifth in the 800 meters (2:02.14) with Cole Martin finishing sixth (2:02.51) and Alex Rossebo seventh (2:03.15).

Paul Christian collected a first in the 5,000 meters (15:38.48) with Nick Meszaros crossing fourth (16:30.13).

DePauw's other winner was Kyle Munz in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:19.55) with Nathaniel Reed placing sixth (11:02.97).

The Tigers collected 17 points in the 400 meters as Jordan Booker was second (49.12), while Dante Stewart was third (49.75) and Johnny Miller sixth (51.17). Booker was also fourth in the 200 meters (22.87) and sixth in the high jump (1.83m/6-0).

Chase Wright was second in the 100 meters (10.98) with David Linton placing eighth (11.47). Wright also was eighth in the 200 meters (23.10).

Nate Baker totaled 18 points in three field events with second-place showings in the shot put (13.54m/44-5.25) and hammer (46.82m/153-7) and an eighth in the discus (38.83m/127-5).

Demarco Henry was fourth in the discus (42.44m/139-3) and 10th in the shot (11.92m/39-1.25), while Andrew Saunders was fourth in the hammer (43.93m/144-1) and sixth in the javelin (43.60/143-0).

DePauw earned 10 points in the 110-meter hurdles as Cameron Stewart was third (16.19) and Kamal Apatira fifth (16.32). Apatira was also fifth in the long jump (6.22m/20-5) as was Tyler Nemeth in the pole vault (4.35m/14-3.25).

Both of DePauw's relays were second as the 4x100 finished in 43.49 seconds and the 4x400 crossed in 3:27.32.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 15, when it hosts the Indiana Division III Championships.
