In the opener, Wittenberg pitcher Chelsea Zang pitched a perfect game for six innings and helped her cause by doubling home Abby Curnutte in the bottom of the first with the game's only run.

Zang retired the first 18 batters she faced before Megan Montgomery led off the seventh with a bunt single. She was then caught stealing for the inning's second out. Jordyn Fera walked and Lauren Godden singled, but a ground out ended the threat and the game.

With the win, Zang improved to 15-1, while DePauw's Brooke Bandy dropped to 5-9 after allowing one run and three hits over four innings. Emma Baldwin struck out four and held Wittenberg hitless over the final two innings.

Wittenberg took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second of the nightcap as Cassidy Rowe homered to left with two outs.

Zang held DePauw to just one hit through four innings before Gabby Smart doubled with one out in the fifth. Abey Bass reached on an error and Julia Bork was hit by a pitch to load the bases. A double play ended the inning.

The hosts made it 2-0 in the fifth after Lauren Buelow doubled and Olivia Hopkins delivered a two-out RBI single to center.

DePauw reached the scoreboard for the only time in the twinbill in the seventh. Smart singled and Bass reached on a fielder's choice with an error on the play that allowed Smart to get to third and Bass to second.

Pinch-hitter Kat Panos then reached on an error that scored Smart. Pinch-runner Sarah Beischer was tagged out in a rundown between third and home on an attempted double steal and Bekka Roberts' ground out ended the game.

Smart had two of DePauw's five hits, while Hopkins had two of Wittenberg's five hits.

Baldwin dropped to 5-6 after allowing two runs and five hits with four strikeouts and no walks. Zang improved to 16-1 and allowed just one unearned run.
