Newlon and Two Relays Earn All-Conference Honors; Tigers in Third after Second Day of NCAC Championships

Granville, OhioAngela Newlon picked up a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle, while a pair of relays also were also third on the second of four days of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. The Tigers are in third place with 411 points, while Denison leads with 712 and Kenyon is second with 623.

Newlon covered the 500 yards in 4:54.31 to collect her fourth all-NCAC honor in the event after winning titles in 2014 and 2016 and placing third in 2015.

The Tigers' 200 free relay opened the evening with a third-place showing as Ellen Riehle, Allison Lund, Olivia Neff and Mary Woods finished in 1:37.03.

Kirsten Olson posted an eighth-place showing in the 200 individual medley in 2:10.55, while Riehle was eighth in the 50 free in 24.47 seconds and Lund was ninth in 24.49.

DePauw's 400 medley relay of Annie Graves, Woods, Newlon and Olson were third in 3:59.33 after going 3:57.81 in the prelims.

Friday's prelims get underway at 10 a.m. at Denison University.
