Monnett's 5,000 School Record Leads Tigers at Anderson

Anderson, Ind. - Claudia Monnett not only won the 5,000 meters at the Fred Wilt Invitational, but she broke a DePauw indoor record at the Fred Wilt Invitational.

Monnett's win came in 17:36.32 and topped the record of 17:49.92 by Leslie Dillon in 2006. Becca Conley was third in the event in 19:04.77.

A pair of Tigers finished second with Natalie Gruszka in the 800 meters (2:26.06) and Amanda Weber in the 200 meters (27.45). Brittany Welker turned in a third-place showing in the 1,000 meters (3:44.75) as did Riley Hickman in the 3,000 (11:20.70).

DePauw had four of the top eight finishers in the mile as Lois Miller was fourth (5:36.30) and Haley Thompson fifth (5:45.24).

The Tigers' 4 x 400 relay was fourth in 4:26.56.

DePauw travels to Oberlin March 3-4 for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.
