Greencastle, Ind. - Led by Zach Batt's win in the mile run, DePauw totaled 89 points and finished second to Wabash's 115 at the DePauw Indoor Classic. Bellarmine was third with 87 and Thomas More fourth with 85.
Batt covered the mile in 4:19.59, while Johnny Miller was second in the 400 meters in 51.56 seconds. Miller finished with 10 points after also placing seventh in the 200 meters (23.69).
Nate Baker totaled 10 points with a third in the shot put (13.47m/44-2.5) and a fifth in the weight throw (14.51m/47-7.25). Also posting third-place finishes were Jordan Booker in the 200 meters (23.47), Chris Lowry in the 800 meters (23.47) and Tyler Nemeth in the pole vault (3.95m/12-11.5). Booker also was fifth in the 400 meters (52.23) and totaled 10 points.
Chase Wright was fourth in the 200 meters (23.53) in addition to placing fifth in the 60 meters (7.27).
The Tigers picked up seven points in the 3,000 meters with Nick Meszaros finishing fourth (9:23.30) and Alex Layton seventh (9:50.74).
Cameron Stewart was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.90), while Alex Rossebo placed sixth in the 800 meters (2:05.13) as did Luke Patty in the 200 meters (23.69).
The Tigers' 4x400 relay also won in 3:31.75.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, February 25, at the Fred Wilt Invitational hosted by Anderson.
