Tigers Finish Second and Third in 100 Breast to Highlight Third Day of NCAC Championships

Granville, Ohio - Sam McManus and Mitchell Davis finished second and third, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke to lead DePauw's performances on the third day of the North Coast Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships.

With one day remaining, DePauw is third with 776.5 points, while Denison leads with 1,299 and Kenyon is second with 1,145. Wabash is fourth with 616.

McManus was second in 55.83 seconds, while Davis was third in 55.99. Both times were under the NCAA "B" cut. 

The Tigers' 200 medley relay of Ryan Smith, Davis, Brandon Sholtis and McManus was third in 1:32.16 after posting the fastest prelim time of 1:31.97.

Sholtis was eighth in the 100 butterfly in 50.72 seconds, while Kurt Swieter was ninth in the 200 free in 1:43.02. Marcus Carter-Buckman turned in the eighth-fastest time in the 100 backstroke in 52.01 seconds.
