DePauw Sweeps on Opening Night of Invitational; Tigers Top #6 Hope

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw moved to 9-2 on the season after blanking Trine and sixth-ranked Hope by 3-0 scores on the opening night of the DePauw Tigers Invitational. The Thunder dropped to 2-9, while the Flying Dutch moved to 8-1.

In the Trine match, the Tigers won by scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-11 and hit .330 while holding the Thunder to just .011.

Suzanne Peters paced DePauw with nine kills, while Morgan Stearley and Haley Bitzer added seven apiece. Peters hit .450 for the match with no errors in 20 attack attempts.

Keegan Kollias set up 28 of the Tigers' 43 kills, while Peters and Kaylee Nichols each totaled two aces. Rachael Lenderman led with 12 digs and Peters had 11 with Elisabeth Wilson recording four block assists.

Morgan Harris and Janaya Wilder each had five kills for Trine with Rhylee Beshears posting 13 digs.

In the second match against previously undefeated Hope, the Tigers won the first two sets by 25-11 and 25-21 scores and scored the final points of the third to wrap up the match with a 26-24 win in the finale.

DePauw hit .239 to Hope's .048 and were paced by Peters with 15 kills and a .429 attack percentage. Kollias had 30 assists as the Tigers totaled 39 kills. Nichols dropped in a pair of aces with Peters and Lenderman each notching 11 digs. Wilson recorded three block solos and five block assists as DePauw finished with 10 as a team.

Katie Rietberg led Hope with nine kills and Mallory Luke chipped in 12 digs.

DePauw hosts Hanover at 11 a.m. tomorrow and Millikin at 3 p.m.
