Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw limited 25th-ranked Wittenberg to just two hits and the offense clubbed eight extra-base hits on the way to a North Coast Athletic Conference doubleheader sweep by scores of 5-1 and 5-0.

The host Tigers moved to 19-12 overall and 10-0 in the NCAC, while Wittenberg dropped to 23-6-1 overall and 7-3 in conference play. DePauw extended its win streak to eight straight and the Tigers have now won 14 of their last 15.

In the opener, Emma Baldwin and Brooke Bandy combined for a one-hitter. DePauw jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first as Liz Getz singled with one out and Linsey Button followed with her third homer of the year.

They added three more in the fifth as Sammi Bell led off with a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch. Button doubled home Bell before Lauren Godden delivered a double to left that plated Bell. Sidney Holler's single to left drove home Godden and gave the Tigers a 5-0 lead.

Wittenberg's lone run came in the sixth when Casey Hobbs and Rachel Black walked with two outs and Katy Baumgartner followed with a single to left that brought home Hobbs.

Godden had three of DePauw's nine hits, while Button added two and drove in three. Baumgartner had Wittenberg's lone hit.

Baldwin improved to 8-7 and struck out four in four innings, while Bandy picked up her second save after striking out three in three innings. Chelsea Zang dropped to 12-4 with the loss.

Ashlee Gibson went the distance for DePauw in the nightcap and posted a one-hit shutout.

The Tigers did all their damage in the third inning as Kathleen Byers led off with a single and pinch-runner Sarah Beischer moved to second on Gabby Smart's base hit. Bell followed with a double that scored Beischer.

Getz walked to load the bases before Button reached on a fielder's choice that forced Smart at the plate. Chasteen drove in a pair with a double to left before Holler followed with a two-run double to left.

Smart had two of DePauw's six hits, while Baumgartner again had Wittenberg's lone hit.

Gibson improved to 5-1 with her first collegiate shutout, while Abby Haab dropped to 11-2.

DePauw, with a three-game lead in the NCAC standings, travels to Wooster on Saturday, April 23, for a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
