Greencastle, Ind. - Three DePauw student-athletes collected first-place finishes at the Indiana Division III Track and Field Championships at Blackstock Stadium and led the Tigers to 68 points and a seventh-place showing as a team. Manchester won with 140 points and Rose-Hulman was second with 118.5.
Anderson's Deborah Garner was named the Female Track Athlete of the Meet, while Cara Eck was the Female Field Athlete of the Meet.
Picking up wins for the Tigers were Ashley Hash in the high jump (1.63m/5-4.25), Rachel Gutish in the pole vault (3.25m/10-8) and Claudia Monnett in the 10,000 meters (40:54.67).
Katie Manalo was third in the shot put (12.02m/39-5.25) and sixth in the discus throw (33.89m/111-2), while Amanda Weber placed fourth in the 100 meters (13.34) as did Anastasia Athas in the triple jump (10.02m/32-10.5).
Ellie Sheffield turned in a fifth-place performance in the 100-meter hurdles (16.67 seconds), while sixth-place finishes came from Maggie Royalty in the long jump (4.84m/15-10.5) and Gabrielle Coffing in the 800 meters (2:29.70). Hallie Bechtel rounded out DePauw's scorers with an eighth-place finish in the 400 meters (1:03.62).
The Tigers' 4x100 relay was fifth in 52.09 seconds as was the 4x400 relay in 4:17.91.
DePauw returns to action on Friday, April 22, at the Rose-Hulman Twilight which gets underway at 5 p.m.
