Terre Haute, Ind. - Paced by firsts from Marcus Dozier and Paul Christian, DePauw totaled 64.5 points and finished fifth at the Rose-Hulman Early Bird. Rose-Hulman won with 258.5 points, while Baldwin Wallace was second with 128.
Dozier took first in the discus throw (48.91/160-5), while Christian won the 5,000 meters (15:06.6). Dozier also was fifth in the shot put (14.1m/46-3.25).
The Tigers picked up 11 points in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as Polo Burguete was second (9:43.95) and Brad Wise sixth (10:38.84).
DePauw turned in a pair of fourth-place finishes including Nate Baker in the hammer throw (44.56m/146-2) and Paul Watts in the 5,000 (15:24.07).
Demarco Henry was fifth in the discus (43.51m/142-9), while Tyler Nemeth tied for fifth in the pole vault (3.82m/12-6.25). Brian Mincks scored in a pair of events with a sixth-place in the 1,500 meters (4:17.90) and seventh in the 800 (2:06.62). Chase Wright was 6th in the 100 meters (11.79 seconds).
The Tigers' 4x400 relay was seventh in 3:42.74.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, April 2, at the Hanover Invitational.
