Three Tigers Take Individual Wins; Dozier Breaks Own Shot Put Record

Greencastle, Ind. - Bolstered by three individual firsts, DePauw totaled 83 points and finished third among eight schools at the Tiger Small College Invitational at the DePauw Tennis and Track Center. Marian (Ind.) won with 179 points, while Hanover was second with 98.

Marcus Dozier broke his own school record in the shot put after winning with a best throw of 17.23 meters/56-6.5. That topped all marks in Division III this season entering the evening's competition.

Johnny Miller turned in a first in the long jump (6.11m/20-0.5), while Paul Christian did the same in the 3,000-meter run in 9:06.68.

Nate Baker was second to Dozier in the shot (13.00m/42-8) and also was fourth in the weight throw (12.95m/42-6).

Tyler Nemeth was third in the pole vault (3.85m/12-7.5) with Ryan Grizzard finishing fourth in the long jump (6.03m/19-9.5) and sixth in the triple jump (11.99m/39-4). Miller was also fifth in the 400 meters (53.14) as was Nick Meszaros in the mile run (4:39.95).

A trio of Tigers placed seventh including Nathaniel Reed in the 3,000 meters (9:47.23), David Linton in the 60 meters (7.44) and Andrew Saunders in the weight throw (11.86m/38-11).

DePauw's distance medley relay was second in 11:12.04, while the 4x200 was sixth in 1:37.66.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, February 13, when they host the DePauw Invitational.
