Anderson, Ind. - In the final tuneup before the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships, DePauw totaled 60 points and finished third among 16 schools at Anderson University's Fred Wilt Invitational. Union (Ky.) won with 70 points and Wabash was second with 61.50.
Marcus Dozier won the shot put for the fourth straight week with a best mark of 16.84 meters. Nate Baker was fourth in the event at 13.11 meters and also placed sixth in the weight throw at 13.79 meters.
Crossing second in the mile was Zach Batt in 4:32.92, while Paul Watts was third in the 5,000 meters (15:38.50) and Cameron Stewart posted the same finish in the 60--meter hurdles (8.88 seconds).
In the 400 meters, Johnny Miller finished in in 51.79 seconds which was good for fourth with Brian Mincks placing fifth in the 800 meters in 2:00.96.
A pair of Tigers scored in the 3,000 meters led by Paul Christian's fifth-place finish (8:48.72) and Polo Burguete's seventh-place showing in 8:54.09. Ryan Grizzard's triple jump of 12.33 meters was good for sixth place.
DePauw's 4x200 relay was fourth in 1:35.94 and its 4x400 relay was sixth in 3:38.52.
The Tigers travel to Kenyon for the NCAC Championships which take place March 4-5.
