Box Score Katelyn Hutchinson connected on a penalty stroke three minutes into overtime and sent Kenyon to a 2-1 win over DePauw in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament championship game.
After Sarah Foye made her first save in overtime, DePauw was called for a penalty immediately after, which set up Hutchinson's penalty stroke and game winner.
Kenyon and DePauw played evenly throughout the game with both teams offsetting each other in the first half. DePauw scored their goal two minutes into the game following a penalty corner.
Senior Addie Ball winded up a shot at the top of the circle, and Paige Berliner deflected her shot in for the goal. It was Berliner's conference leading and team-high 21st goal of the season.
Kenyon answered in the 25th minute with a deflection shot of their own with Kelsey Trulik on the goal and Hutchinson on the assist.
Kenyon took control midway through the first half, but DePauw took the offensive advantage throughout the second. DePauw outshot Kenyon 14-12 (7-2 in the second half), and Kenyon won the corner advantage 10-9 but took all 10 of their corners in the first half (DePauw took seven in the second).
Foye made four saves, while NCAC All-Tournament team MVP Sarah Speroff made eight saves for the Ladies.
Kenyon moves to 14-6 overall and receives the automatic bid into the NCAA Championships. DePauw snaps their 11-game win streak, drops to 17-4 overall and can only hope for one of the sought out at-large bids.
