Box Score Gambier, Ohio – Jonathan Wheeler tallied an early goal but four unanswered goals sealed DePauw's fate in the NCAC men's soccer tournament as they took a 4-1 loss to Kenyon on Wednesday.
The fourth seeded Tigers took momentum early following a free kick where E.J. Moore found Wheeler in the center of the box for his fifth goal of the season. They held a 1-0 lead for 19 minutes until the top seeded Lords tied it via a goal from Tony Amolo.
Two minutes later Kenyon took the lead for good following a throw in as Bret Lowry hit the game-winner. Kenyon added on to their 2-1 lead in the second half with goals in the 61st minute and 67th minute.
Harrison Glover made one save in the loss. Kenyon outshot DePauw 16-8 and took the corner advantage 6-2.
Kenyon advances to the NCAC championship game behind a record of 16-2. The Tigers sit at 11-5-2 and will await word on whether or not they will receive an at-large bid for the NCAA DIII Championships.
