Elizabeth Seewer shined on her senior day, scoring two goals and hitting the game winner with 1:18 remaining as the DePauw women's soccer team defeated Allegheny 3-2 on Saturday.

Furthermore, it was a must win game for the Tigers, who are now 9-6-1 overall and 5-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The win solidifies them in third place and with a spot in the NCAC tournament.

Allegheny was fighting for a spot as well but the loss drops them to 6-10-1 overall and 3-5 in the conference to end their season.

DePauw held the offensive advantage, outshooting the Gators 27-7. They outshot Allegheny 14-2 in the first half and even took the first seven shots of the game. However, Allegheny's first shot was on target and just out of the reach of keeper Riley Riordan as Kayla Dantona scored her first goal of the season with 29:51 left in the first half.

The Tigers entered the half trailing 1-0, giving them six straight halves without a goal. But their fortune changed thanks to the presence of leading scorer Kathryn Ruark, who entered for the first time since being injured against Wooster on Oct. 15.

First, it was Bailey Ehrens who broke the scoreless stretch at 60:47. Then, Seewer connected on her first goal via an assist from Ruark at 67:44.

The Tigers held the lead for a mere 16 seconds as Dantona connected again at 68:00. Twenty minutes later, Seewer connected on the game winner thanks to an assist from Bridget Brendza.

Riley Riordan made one save in net. DePauw took eight corners to Allegheny's one.

DePauw takes the third seed in the NCAC tournament and will travel to No. 2 seed Denison on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. game.
