Greencastle, Ind. - Matt Hunt rushed for two touchdowns and threw for the other four as DePauw moved to 4-0 overall and 3-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 48-35 win over Kenyon. The Lords dropped to 3-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

Marko Adams booted the first of two field goals just 1:45 into the contest to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead and Matt Hunt scored on a 37-yard run with 7:45 left in the opening stanza on a drive set up by Brooks Hepp's interception.

Matt Hunt teamed with his brother, Andy, for a 55-yard gain on the first play of the Tigers' final drive of the first and, three plays later, Ian Good hauled in a 27-yard scoring pass to make it 17-0 with 1:47 remaining in the quarter.

Kenyon reached paydirt on Nat Henry's 2-yard run with 12:12 left in the half, but Adams nailed a 29-yarder to make it 20-7 with 5:45 left. That field goal was the 28th of his DePauw career and tied the school record held by Tom Downham (1984-87).

The Lords answered with Jibri McLean scoring on a 35-yard pass from quarterback Thomas Merkle, but DePauw closed out the half with a nine-play, 76-yard drive capped by Matt Hunt's 11-yard pass to Nolan Ayres to make it 27-14.

The Lords opened the third with a 17-play scoring drive that took 6:42 and ended with Merkle's 14-yard pass to Brian Hunca to close the DePauw lead to 27-21.

The Hunt brothers teamed for a 16-yard scoring pass to make it 34-21 before Cody Baker's interception led to a 9-yard scoring pass between the Hunts and extended the Tigers' lead to 41-21. 

DePauw's defense forced a punt and, on the second play of the next drive, Matt Hunt scampered 46 yards for a score.

Merkle and Ian Robinson connected on the Lords' final two scores to wrap up the scoring.

Kenyon outgained DePauw, 492-471, with the Tigers holding a 234-54 edge on the ground.
Matt Hunt rushed for a career-high 159 yards on 16 carries and completed 18-of-30 passes for 237 yards. Andy Hunt caught eight of those for 146 yards and two scores.

Merkle connected on 44-of-66 passes for a Kenyon-record 438 yards and four touchdowns. Hunca set a Kenyon record with 18 catches for 207 yards and one touchdown, while Robertson added 12 catches and McLean 10.

Rocky Leffler led DePauw with 11 tackles and Will Longthorne added 10 as well as a team-high 2.5 for loss. Hayden Gaus paced Kenyon with 12 stops and Saxon Justice added 11.

DePauw travels to Wittenberg next Saturday for a 1 p.m. game of NCAC unbeatens.
