Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw's Marcus Dozier and Polo Burguete picked up wins in the season's first indoor met and led the Tigers to a fourth-place showing at Rose-Hulman's Friday night Invitational.
The Tigers totaled 40 points, while Rose-Hulman won with 268 followed by Wabash with 146.5 and Hanover with 51.
Dozier not only picked up a win in the shot put but he broke his own school record with a best mark of 16.52 meters (54-2.5). That record came on his fourth attempt which broke the mark he set on his third effort at 16.49 meters. Nate Baker placed eighth in the shot at 12.76 meters (41-10.5).
Burguete won the 3,000-meter run in 8:52.97, while Paul Watts was fifth in 9:04.53 and Paul Christian sixth in 9:05.26.
Ryan Grizzard was runner-up in the long jump at 6.27 meters (20-7) with Robbie Dolph placing eighth at 5.49 meters (18-00.25).
Tyler Nemeth rounded out the Tigers' scorers as he finished sixth in the pole vault in his first collegiate meet with a best mark of 3.75 meters (12-3.5).
DePauw returns to action on Friday, February 5, when it host the Tiger Small College Invitational at 5 p.m.
