Box Score Bloomington, Ill. - Stephanie Martin's three first-half goals led DePauw to a 4-1 win over Kalamazoo in a contest played at Illinois Wesleyan. The Tigers improved to 1-1, while the Hornets slipped to 0-2.
Martin's first score came at 14:02 on an assist from Megann Lear before she made it 2-0 on Elizabeth Seewer's assist at 32:34. Lear again assisted Martin at 38:39 to push the lead to 3-0 and give Martin a hat trick.
Alyson Marzonie's score at 64:16 on Seewer's second assist extended the margin to 4-0 before Kalamazoo's Christina Dandar scored the game's final goal at 69:54.
DePauw held a 13-9 edge in shots, while Kalamazoo led in corners, 8-3. DePauw's Riley Riordan recorded five saves with the Hornets' Grace Smith stopping three shots.
The Tigers return to action tomorrow with a 7:30 p.m. CDT contest against Calvin at Illinois Wesleyan.
