Box Score Crestview Hills, Ky. - Looking to get back into the Top 25, the DePauw men's soccer team tied Thomas More on Tuesday 2-2. The Saints are ranked 15th in the NSCAA Coaches' poll and 24th by d3soccer.com.
Both teams traded goals early and late. Thomas More got on the board first at the 13:25 mark when Austin Juniet scored. Seven minutes later, Julian Gonzalez scored to tie it at 1-1. Both goals were off breakaways.
The score remained the same through halftime and until the 74:10 mark when DePauw took its only lead of the game. Gonzalez found the fresh Zach Hoffman, who had just subbed in, as he scored his fifth goal of the year.
Yet, the score didn't stick as Thomas More scored at the 87:47 mark and neither team could score in the overtime periods.
Hoffman and Gonzalez are now tied with a team-high five goals on the year. With his early goal, Gonzalez became the 11th player in school history to reach 30 career goals.
Thomas More outshot DePauw 19-17, had four corners to DePauw's three and each team committed 15 fouls.
Goalkeeper Chris Yount recorded seven saves.
DePauw (6-1-2) returns to action Saturday when they travel to No. 1 ranked Kenyon.
