Tigers rebound in NCAC opener

Box Score

Greencastle, Ind. -- The Tigers rebounded from their first loss of the year with a 2-1 win over Oberlin on Saturday in the North Coast Athletic Conference opener.

And they got on the scoreboard quick. Adrian Ables, in what appeared to be a cross, scored from the right side of the field on an arching shot :27 into the game. That score remained until midway through the second half.

Oberlin tied it at the 64:17 mark when Louis Naiman connected on a shot just outside the box. Needing a goal, Julian Gonzalez came up in a big way with a soft roller that eluded the Oberlin goalkeeper at the 74:14 mark.

A physical game throughout, both teams produced two yellow cards, while DePauw committed 16 fouls to Oberlin's six.

DePauw outshot Oberline 21-12 and had the corner advantage at 8-1.

DePauw goalkeeper Chris Yount moved to 5-1-1 on the year. He recorded four saves.

Koryn Kraemer took the loss for Oberlin. He made six saves.

DePauw is back in action Tuesday when they travel to Thomas More.
