Centre too much for Tigers

Danville, Ky. - 13th-ranked Centre stayed undefeated on Sunday with a 4-1 win over the Tigers.

Centre (5-0) scored four unanswered goals after DePauw (3-3) went ahead early thanks to a score from Bridget Brendza. She scored off an assist from Jen Dimos at the 11:30 mark.

Centre tied it at 1-1 before the half when Nancy Ingham scored on a header after a cross from Tori Dillard on a corner (38:16).

Three goals in the second half sealed the game. 

The first, and game-winner, came off a breakaway goal from Alex Combs (47:18). The next was another header, this time by Katie Downing (55:51), and the third was six minutes later by Shelby Ratcliff.

Riley Riordan took the loss in net. She made four saves.

Centre outshot DePauw 12-4 and took four corners to DePauw's one. Alyson Marzonie was issued a yellow card in the first half. DePauw committed 11 fouls to Centre's nine.

DePauw returns to action Saturday at home against Loras.
