Box Score Hanover, Ind. – Julian Gonzalez's goal 15 minutes into DePauw's opening game against Hanover was all the Tigers would need to start its 2015 season on a high note.
DePauw defeated the Panthers 1-0 on Tuesday thanks to Gonzalez's game-winning goal. Mitch Reavis and Alieu Musa were each credited with an assist on the play.
DePauw (1-0) took 14 shots during the course of the game. Gonzalez contributed to six of those.
Hanover (0-1) took eight shots but nothing got past DePauw senior goalkeeper Chris Yount (1-0), who recorded four saves for the shutout.
The men's soccer team is back in action Friday when they play Earlham in the first game of the Raven/Quaker Classic. They play at Anderson Saturday for the second game.
