Greencastle, Ind. - Led by Rachel Gutish's first in the pole vault and second-place finishes in six other events, the Tigers totaled 140 points and finished second at the Indiana Division III Championships at Blackstock Stadium.
Franklin won with 152.5 points, while Manchester and Hanover tied for third with 133 apiece.
Gutish established the school record after winning the pole vault at 11-2.25 (3.41 meters). Turning in individual second-place performances were Maggie Royalty (100 meters, 12.74 seconds), Amanda Weber (200 meters, 26.89 seconds), Odessa Fernandes (400 meters, 1:01.98), Celia Kauth (high jump, 5-4.5.1.64 meters) and Katie Manalo (shot put, 35-1.25/10.70 meters).
Royalty was third in the 200 meters (27.12) as was Hope Jordan in the 5,000 meters (19:09.65), Lois Miller in the 10,000 meters (40:27.00), Megan Everhart in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:12.90) and Weber in the long jump (15-9.75/4.82 meters).
DePauw's 4 x 100 relay also was second in 51.49 seconds.
The Tigers travel to Terre Haute on Friday, April 17, where they'll compete in the Rose-Hulman Invitational.
