Tigers Equal Best NCAA Finish; 400 Free Relay Breaks Another Record and Places Sixth

Shenandoah, Texas - Capped by another school-record performance in the 400-yard freestyle relay, DePauw equaled its best finish ever at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships by placing 11th. The Tigers totaled 125 points which was just one shy of their record 126 in 2008 when they also finished 11th.

In the prelims, Alex Alfonso, Casey Hooker, Alex Grissom and Blake Lehmann finished in fifth and broke the school record by .02 seconds after touching in 2:59.75. In the finals, Stephen McMurtry swam the third spot and the relay finished sixth in another school record of 2:59.68.

Lehmann also earned honorable mention all-America honors after finishing 13th in the 100 free in 45.05 seconds after placing 10th in the prelims in 44.70. Alfonso was 21st in the prelims in 45.22 and Hooker was 34th in 45.80.
