Tigers' 800 Free Relay Earns All-America Honors; Tigers Move to 14th

Shenandoah, Texas - DePauw's 800-yard freestyle relay capped off another record-setting day at the NCAA Division III Championships with a sixth-place performance. The Tigers have 54 points and are in 14th place as a team. Emory leads with 456.5 points, while Denison is second with 320.

Angela Newlon, Kirsten Olson, Erin Horne and Emily Weber touched in 7:26.07 and earned all-America honors. Newlon's leadoff swim of 1:51.04 broke the 200 freestyle record that Weber established yesterday.

Newlon set a new 200 butterfly record in the morning prelims in 2:04.44 and then broke it again in the finals after finishing 12th in 2:03.23 which was good for honorable mention all-America.

Saturday's final day of competition includes Olson in the 200 backstroke, Weber in the 1,650 free and the 400 free relay.
