Box Score 2 Memphis, Tenn. - DePauw completed a four-game weekend sweep today with a 2-0 victory over Maryville (Tenn.) and a 13-7 win over Rhodes.
In today's first game, Julia Waggoner led off the third with a single and stole second. She moved to third on Beth Chelmowski's sacrifice bunt. Morgan McCord followed with an RBI single. McCord stole second and then third and came home on a wild throw by the Maryville catcher.
Waggoner paced DePauw with two of its five hits, while four different Scots had one hit each.
Emma Baldwin moved to 2-0 on the season after tossing a four-hit shutout while striking out 11 and walking just one. Lexie Randolph suffered the loss in the circle for Maryville.
In the Rhodes game, both teams scored three in the opening frame before DePauw crossed home seven times in the second to blow the game open.
DePauw totaled 21 hits as Taylor Golden led the way with a 4-for-4 performance with four RBI. Jennifer Ridge, Sammi Bell and Grace Hendrickson each collected three hits, while Elizabeth Getz, Lauren Godden and Waggoner had two each. Godden and Golden each homered in the second inning.
The Lynx finished with eight hits as Emily Cerrito went 3-for-3 and Makenzie Martin collected two.
Kahla Nolan improved to 2-0 after pitching five innings and allowing three earned runs.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, March 7, when it faces Washington-St. Louis and Agnes Scott in games at Agnes Scott.
