Greencastle, Ind. - On the opening evening of indoor competition, DePauw totaled 82 points and finished second at the Tiger Small College Invitational on the Hollensteiner Track. Marian (Ind.) won with 212 points and Bellarmine was third with 58.
Marcus Dozier finished second in the shot put at 15.70 meters (51-6.25) and broke the DePauw indoor record by over two feet.
Also collecting second-place finishes were Paul Watts in the 3,000-meter run in 9:01.44 and Aaron Krabill in the pole vault at 4.35 meters (14-3.25).
Josh Ebikwo set a school record in the 60-meter dash in 7.09 seconds in his first collegiate meet, while George Macy tied a school mark in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.65.
Noah Gatwood also turned in a third-place showing in the 3000 meters (9:06.67) as did Ryan Grizzard in the triple jump (12.52m/41-1). Grizzard also added a fourth in the long jump (6.24m/20-5.75). Also placing fourth was Grayson Schoch in the high jump (1.78m/5-10).
The Tigers' 4x200 relay was third in 1:36.21 as was their distance medley relay in 10:55.41.
DePauw returns to action on Saturday, February 14, when it hosts the DePauw Invitational.
