Box Score Wooster, Ohio – It was a day to forget for the DePauw men's basketball team as they fell to Wooster 85-56 in a North Coast Athletic Conference matchup on Saturday.
Luke Lattner led the team with 15 points as the rest of the starters combined for just seven points on 2-of-14 shooting. Mason Hankins and David Vogel each contributed nine points off the bench, and Andrew Kus added seven points and three rebounds. John Starkey led the team with four rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wooster was firing on all cylinders with five different players in double figures. Alex Baptiste and Dan Fanelly each scored 12 while Spencer Williams, Milt Davis and Mitch Balser all scored 10.
Wooster shot 48 percent (31-of-65) from the field compared to DePauw's 33 shooting percentage (15-of-46). Wooster also shot 39 percent (9-of-23) from 3-point range while DePauw shot 29 percent (5-of-17).
The Fighting Scots outrebounded the Tigers 41-30, showed solid ball movement with 19 assists and turned the ball over 11 times. DePauw had six assists and 15 turnovers.
Wooster's lead got as high as 33 late in the second half. They scored the first points of the game and never trailed.
DePauw trailed by eight with five minutes to go in the first half but faced a 40-26 deficit at the half.
It was the third straight loss for the Tigers. They fall to 2-5 overall and 0-2 in the NCAC. They play host to Oberlin at 1 p.m. next Saturday.
