Terre Haute, Ind. - David Vogel scored 22 and Luke Lattner added 20, but it wasn't enough as DePauw dropped a 91-71 exhibition decision to Division I Indiana State at the Hulman Center.

The Tigers trailed by just one with under three minutes left in the first half before the Sycamores scored the final seven points of the half to take a 44-36 advantage at the break.

Indiana State quickly expanded that lead to 14 after scoring the first six points of the second half in the opening four minutes. DePauw got as close as 10 the rest of the way.

Vogel knocked in five three-pointers in his 25 minutes of action. Also scoring in double figures was Andrew Kus with 11 along with team-highs of eight rebounds and five assists in 26 minutes.

Khristian Smith paced Indiana state with 21 points followed by Matt Van Scyoc with 13, Brenton Scott with 12 and Brandon Murphy with 11.

DePauw shot 39 percent from the floor, but hit 10-of-28 from three-point range. Indiana State shot 47.3 percent from the floor and held a 50-35 rebounding edge. 

The Tigers open the season on Tuesday, November 17, when they host Franklin at 7:30 p.m.
