Box Score Greencastle, Ind. – In a must-win game for the Tigers to stay in the race for North Coast Athletic Conference regular season title, the field hockey team put forth a dominant 3-0 performance against Kenyon on Saturday.
The result puts both teams at 10-1 at the NCAC. The teams have now traded wins as earlier in the year DePauw lost at Kenyon 1-0.
Natalie Abbott hit the game-winner 22:22 into the contest, while Paige Berliner closed the door with two second half goals at 59:05 and 66:13.
Grace Goodbarn was credited with the assist on the first goal, and Sofia Carretero recorded an assist on the third goal.
DePauw goalkeeper Sarah Guendert (11-3) was stellar with six saves while recording the shutout. Kenyon, who was held without a shot in the first half, could only get off 10 shots while DePauw took 15.
DePauw took 10 penalty corners to Kenyon's six, and each team was issued a green card.
DePauw moves to 11-3 overall, while Kenyon drops to 13-2. DePauw is back in action Sunday when they take on Denison.
