Box Score Wooster, Ohio – A Paige Berliner hat trick gave DePauw a 3-2 double overtime victory over Wooster on Saturday.
Berliner scored once in the first half (23:46), once in the second half (52:54) and finally the game-winner in the second overtime (94:06).
Her first goal was off a rebound after a shot by Reilly Bruce to make it a 1-1 game. Wooster had two goals from Erika Womack and a 2-1 lead at halftime.
Following a corner, Berliner recorded her second goal off an assist from Grace Goodbarn. In the second overtime, Berliner scored following another corner as Addie Ball was credited with the assist.
The win puts DePauw at 9-3 overall and 8-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Wooster drops to 3-12 overall and 2-8 in the NCAC.
Sarah Guendert recorded the win in the net. She made two saves, while Wooster took just five shots. Meanwhile, the Tiger offense took 34 shots, and Wooster goalkeeper Danielle Slichenmyer made 18 saves.
DePauw had 23 penalty corners to Wooster's three.
The Tigers also wore rainbow colored bracelets to support Athlete Ally, which is a non-profit organization that combats transphobia and homophobia in sport.
DePauw is back in action Sunday when they travel to Oberlin.
